Woman kicked off flight for refusing to wear face mask
A woman who was filmed being kicked off an American Airlines flight because she refused to comply with the airline’s compulsory mask rule has been dubbed a “Karen” and gone viral.
The video was originally posted on TikTok by user @jsalde88 but has since been reposted on several different social media sites.
The video filmed July 19 on a flight from Ohio to North Carolina shows a woman dressed in a green shirt gathering her bags from the plane’s overhead compartment after she was asked to leave the flight.
Passengers and flight crew wearing face masks can be seen watching as the woman starts to move down the aisle.
Passengers can be heard discussing if they should start clapping.

When several people begin to applaud, the woman turns around and snaps at the crowd.
“You can clap all you want,” the woman can be heard saying.
“Just leave. We have flights to get on,”a passengers yells out.
The airline requires all passengers over the age of two years old to wear a face mask in “all areas of the airports at which American operates,” which includes onboard, terminals and club lounges.
Face coverings are only permitted to be removed if you are eating or drinking.
