A woman who came to the rescue of a man short on cash has laughed at what an ‘idiot’ she was after realising it was actually Keith Urban.
Ruth Reed, from New Jersey, USA, thought she was helping a down-and-out man pay for his food at a petrol station.
The substitute teacher had made a resolution to help people at her local convenience store, and jumped at the chance when the man ahead of her was short a few dollars.
Ruth revealed he thanked her and said his name was Keith.
She even went so far as to remark that he looked like Keith Urban. When he said actually was, at first she didn’t believe him, asking the person with him – who turned out to be his body guard – to confirm she was in fact talking to the country music star.
“It was then I realised what an idiot I was,” she told local media outlets.
The pair then posed for a photo outside of the Medford store, which he was visiting ahead of his concert on Friday night in Camden.
It is not clear if Ruth ended up attending the concert herself after her encounter with Keith.
A spokesperson for the store said they were “thrilled” by the story.
“We are lucky at Wawa to have the best customers around,” she told NBC. “They include our wonderful regular customers, like Ruth, and occasionally music superstars like Keith Urban!”
Australian fans have been asking Keith Urban to return home for a tour, and the singer finally listened announcing he’s bringing his Graffiti U world tour to down under in early 2019.
And Keith won’t be alone. Apart from wife Nicole Kidman and their daughters hopefully jetting Down Under to cheer him on in the crowd, the musician will have special guest Julia Michaels joining him for the ride.
