They say the bond between sisters is one of the strongest and this woman’s story is a testament to that.

American Therese Merkel has revealed the extreme lengths went to to make sure she was involved in one of the biggest days of her sibling Rachel’s life when she disguised herself as a bush to watch on as her soon-to-be brother-in-law popped the question.

Therese took to Twitter on Tuesday to share how she suited up as a shrub to blend in with the foliage at the spot Andrew, her sister’s now-fiancé, chose to get down on one knee.

“Sister got engaged this weekend and I dressed as a bush in the wilderness to watch/capture the moment,” Therese wrote.

“We are one year apart...why are our lives so different rofl,” she deadpanned in the post.

The covert photographer also shared a snap of the beautiful moment along with two shots of herself in her full camouflage garb.

The tweet has quickly gone viral, receiving more than 176,000 likes at the time of writing.

As for the reactions to Therese’s quirky costume, it’s safe to say that social media is behind her “sweet” yet “creepy” gesture.

Along with congratulations for the happy couple, many are hailing Therese as “the best sister”.

Therese isn’t the first to go the extra mile in order to help a loved one pull off the perfect proposal moment.

Earlier this year, a man went viral after taking the role of petal thrower at his best friend’s proposal.

Charbel Abillama proposed to his girlfriend Kristina on the stairs outside of the famous Château Laurier hotel in Ottawa, Canada, and enlisted his friend Wael Mansour as an unofficial ‘petal thrower’ to add a touch of romance.

In a clip, he can be seen lovingly throwing rose petals from behind the stairs with a smile plastered across his face, as his friend got down on one knee.
