Yahoo Lifestyle WNBA unveils 2020 court, which features two Black Lives Matter signs
The WNBA will make a statement when its 2020 season kicks off at 12 p.m. ET. The league unveiled its new court Saturday, which features two Black Lives Matter signs.
The league revealed its court in a tweet Saturday.

The Black Lives Matter signs are positioned near the WNBA logo in the middle of the court. One Black Lives Matter sign is positioned to the upper left of the WNBA logo. The other is positioned on the lower right.

Like the NBA, the WNBA is also engaging in a bubble plan. The WNBA is set to play its games at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
WNBA is focused on justice as season begins
WNBA players will open the season with Breonna Taylor’s name on their jerseys. Taylor — a 26-year-old Black ER technician — was shot and killed by Louisville police while sleeping in her apartment. Players will be allowed to choose whether they want to keep Taylor’s name on their jerseys for the rest of the season. Taylor’s mother, Tamika Palmer, praised both the NBA and WNBA for advocating for Taylor.
WNBA season begins Saturday
The WNBA will continue to show off its new court during a tripleheader Saturday. Sabrina Ionescu and the New York Liberty will kick off the season with a matchup against Breanna Stewart and the Seattle Storm at 12 p.m. ET.
The Los Angeles Sparks and Phoenix Mercury will play the second game of the day at 3 p.m. ET, while the Indiana Fever and Washington Mystics will close out the opening day slate at 5 p.m. ET.
