Yahoo Lifestyle WNBA postpones games for 2nd day in a row, will not play on Thursday
For the second day in a row the WNBA has postponed games in response to the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
On Thursday afternoon’s SportsCenter, WNBA Players Association president Nneka Ogwumike announced that the three WNBA games scheduled to be played on Thursday night are being postponed.
Following that, the WNBA released a statement.

Six total WNBA games will need to be rescheduled, three from Wednesday and three from Thursday. The league has not yet released information about when that will take place.
Candlelight vigil
Following the cancellation of Wednesday’s games, WNBA players got together and organized a candlelight vigil in their bubble in Bradenton, Florida. Anyone was invited to speak, and many did. Nneka Ogwumike, commissioner Cathy Engelbert, Las Vegas Aces coach Bill Laimbeer, and WNBA executive committee member Layshia Clarendon all spoke and complimented the tireless social justice work of WNBA players. Clarendon also read Maya Angelou’s famous poem “And Still I Rise.”
