Grim past of Alameddine’s girlfriend revealed

A widow whose bikie husband was gunned down in front of her has been released on bail after she allegedly helped her partner, an alleged associate of another crime network, evade police.

Jade Heffer appeared in the NSW Supreme Court on Thursday to make a bid for bail after spending seven weeks behind bars.

She was arrested after her partner Ahmad Alameddine fled from authorities during a raid of a Greenacre home in south west Sydney.

Mr Alameddine, an alleged crime family associate, allegedly jumped over the back fence of the Narellan Crescent property to avoid officers.

Ms Heffer and Mr Alameddine’s sister Susan, 35, were arrested at a nearby service station.

Justice Natalie Adams said the women allegedly gave “different and false versions to police” about Mr Alameddine’s whereabouts and “continued to assist him to evade police over ensuing days.”

Ms Heffer is facing charges of hindering the apprehension of a person who has committed a serious offence and hindering a police officer in the execution of their duty.

She is also facing charges of acquiring a pistol while subject to a firearm prohibition order and acquiring a firearm without a licence.

Justice Natalie Adams noted the charges were “more serious” because the 28-year-old “admitted that she had handled” a pistol during a police interview.

Ms Heffer has not yet entered a plea to the charges.

The court heard she suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder caused by the violent death of her late husband, Yusuf Nazlioglu.

She was married to the Lone Wolf bikie when he was gunned down in a Rhodes parking lot in June last year.

“(Ms Heffer) watched her husband be shot in front of her,” Justice Adams said.

“After his death, she formed a relationship with another person who is said to be associated with another criminal gang, as was her ex-husband.”

Ms Heffer is not accused of playing a role in a criminal network and Justice Adams emphasised her nearly spotless criminal record.

“The main risk factors for this applicant are not committing crime herself but rather assisting her partner in escaping apprehension for his involvement in illegal activity,” she said.

Mr Alameddine was arrested earlier this month after a month-long manhunt, which Justice Adams determined “diminishes the risk” of her committing a similar offence.

She said the widow’s bid for bail was supported by the fact her parents drove the “significant distance” of 8.5 hours to be in the Supreme Court in person.

The Supreme Court Justice granted Ms Heffer’s bail on strict conditions, which dictate that she lives with her parents in a small country town near the NSW/Victoria border.

The widow, who wore her blonde hair tied back and large silver framed glasses, appeared relieved when the decision was handed down.

Her alleged co-offender Ms Alameddine also made a bid for bail in the NSW Supreme Court on Thursday.

She has pleaded not guilty to hindering the apprehension of a person who committed a serious offence.

Justice Adams noted the mother-of-two had a criminal history of convictions for what she termed “disrespect for the law”.

In 2021, the court heard she was convicted for supplying drugs to her brother while he was in custody.

The crown prosecutor conceded her brother’s arrest meant the risk of the 35-year-old committing another offence was “greatly diminished”.

Justice Adams stressed Ms Alameddine was not accused of being a member of any criminal network.

She granted the mother-of-two bail under strict conditions, which will keep her mostly confined to her home.

Both Ms Alameddine and Ms Heffer are prohibited from contacting each other or Mr Alameddine, who is now in custody on remand.

Police said he was engaged in an intimate act with a woman when police found him in Coogee.

Both women looked relieved as they left Dillwynia Correctional Centre on Thursday afternoon.

Ms Heffer wore her blonde hair tied back into a messy bun and clutched a plastic bag as she was ushered from the prison grounds by her mother and her stepfather.

Just moments later, Ms Alameddine was collected by an overjoyed group of loved ones who grinned widely as they hugged her close.

She was seen puffing a vape and holding a bottle of V Energy as she walked out of the prison in a grey tracksuit with her hair in tight braids.
