Widespread concern Melania Trump has 'disappeared' again

While US President Donald Trump continues to dominate headlines world wide, the First Lady has stayed silent – sparking widespread concern about her whereabouts.

Melania Trump has yet to attend any official engagements this year nor has she made a personal appearance for that matter.

Despite her husband’s side hustle as a keyboard warrior, the 48-year-old has also steered clear of social media this weeks.

The last time we heard from the First Lady was on January 13, when she whipped out her phone to share photographs of the White House blanketed in snow via Twitter.

Unsurprisingly, social media users have been questioning her whereabouts with many suspecting that she’s gone into hiding during the government shutdown.

But according to her spokesperson Stephanie Grisham, Melania is merely busy planning upcoming events.

“We are in the planning phase for 2019 in terms of ‘Be Best’ and annual functions at the White House,” Stephanie told The Washington Post.

Interestingly, news broke this morning that Melania travelled to Florida over the weekend with the government jet to spend time at the Mar-a-Lago resort – which is also referred to as the Winter White House.

The reports were met with scrutiny, after Trump grounded official speaker Nancy Pelosi’s trip to visit US troops in Afghanistan due to the government shutdown.

But it’s not the first time Melania has seemingly vanished from the White House, as the First Lady did not make a public appearance last year until January 30 for the President’s State of the Union address.

As bizarre conspiracy theories concerning the presidential couple’s marital issues began to circulate, she took to Twitter to reveal her whereabouts.

“I’m here at the White House with my family, feeling great and working hard on behalf of children and the American people!” she tweeted at the time.

In fact, Melania had undergone a medical procedure to treat a benign kidney condition and spent five nights at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Centre in Maryland.

It is not yet known when Melania will make her next appearance.
