Why Sofía Vergara Washes Her Hair Every Day — and More of Her Beauty Rituals (Exclusive)
Vergara spoke to PEOPLE about all things beauty at her Toty Transforma AHA Launch Party in Los Angeles on Thursday
Sofía Vergara doesn't skip a day when it comes to her haircare routine.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at her Toty Transforma AHA Launch Party on Thursday, the actress, 51, opened up about some of her beauty rituals.
“I can’t go a day without [a shower] with the nice shampoo and soap,” Vergara tells PEOPLE. “I wash my hair every day, which a lot of people think is crazy. A lot of women ask me, shocked, how I do it every day, but if I don’t wash my hair, I don’t feel like I wake up.”
She adds, “That sounds silly, and a lot of women try to do their blowouts that last two to three days. I can’t.”

Vergara, who launched her suncare brand, Toty, in June, also tells PEOPLE that she loves using products so much that if she was asked to “put cement" under her eyes, because it was a beloved product, she might just do it.
“I don’t want to miss out on anything,” Vergara says. “I love microneedling, which can be scary because they take your blood, the PRP, that one I do, which I think is a little bit crazy, but it’s not bad.”
However, the Modern Family alum explains that she’s still cautious about what she puts on her skin due to having rosacea, or redness of the skin.
“I can’t get too crazy,” Vergara tells PEOPLE. “When I was young, I was more into trying anything, but now I’m cautious because I’m 51.”

Speaking of her Transforma AHA Serum from her toty brand, the star explains that people who don’t like long beauty methods will love it as “it’s all you need.”
“You put that thing on at night and then the next day, you protect with your makeup and SPF, and you’re done,” Vergara says.
Meanwhile, the star also opened up to PEOPLE about her year. This comes after her split this summer from Joe Manganiello after seven years of marriage, as well as the nearly four-month SAG-AFTRA strike, where most TV shows and films came to a pause.
“I’ve had a very interesting year,” Vergara explains. ”I don’t want to say ‘bad’ or anything like that, but it’s been very interesting and very difficult.”
“I went through a divorce this year, the SAG strike that went on for so long,” she adds. “I’ve seen my friends struggle — some had to take their kids out of their schools or had problems with their mortgages, so it’s been a weird, weird year.”
