Why Gordon Ramsay Missed the Births of His Four Eldest Children
Gordon Ramsay is known for putting himself in the middle of high-intensity situations—when they take place in a kitchen, at least. But according to his wife, Tana Ramsay, there's one place she was afraid might make the famous chef a bit "squeamish."
On a recent episode of the Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast, Tana told host Giovanna Fletcher that Gordon wasn't in the delivery room when their four oldest children were born.
“He would've gotten all squeamish and probably fainted and all the attention would’ve been on him, and this is my moment,” Tana said. “It didn't ever really bother me and I actually felt quite happy when we talked about it.”
“I said, ‘Look, if you don’t want to be in there then don’t,” she continued.
Tana said the arrangement "just felt right," and she chose to have her mom with her during labor instead.

Gordon, 57, and Tana, 50, have six children together: Megan, 26, twins Jack and Holly, 24, Matilda (Tilly), 22, Oscar, 5, and Jesse, 9 months. The Master Chef star was present for the births of their two youngest sons, Oscar and Jesse.
“I don’t know what changed; it’s just he wanted to be there. I felt it would be nice,” she said.
Tana suffered a miscarriage in 2016 when she was 20 weeks pregnant with their son, named Rocky, which she said might have had something to do with Gordon's change of heart.
“I think it was after what we went through with losing Rocky, our little boy,” Tana added.
