Lady Gaga nails the US National Anthem at the Super Bowl!

Kicking off one of the most star-powered Super Bowls in recent memory, Lady Gaga sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Wearing a sparkling, bright red suit and impressively high platform heels, the singer delivered an emotional (and flawless) performance as acclaimed deaf actress Marlee Matlin performed the song in American Sign Language.

The stadium went crazy over her performance.

"I've always wanted to sing the National Anthem at a major sporting event since I was a little girl," Gaga told the NFL. "This is one of the highest honours of my career. I get a chance to sing for all the athletes who have been working so hard their whole like for this moment."

Coldplay will be headlining the halftime show this year, and Beyoncé – who performed in 2013 – is rumoured to be hitting the stage alongside the band.
