The Fisher Boys Leave The X Factor

Stay tuned for more from The Fisher Boys!

Their harmonies and synchronised moves weren’t enough to save The Fisher Boys from becoming the second act to be cut from Seven's The X Factor, with the judges unanimous in their decision to send home the four Perth brothers in favour of their Groups category rivals, Matt and Jess, on Oct. 6.

“They haven't set a foot wrong, I’m gutted,” said Groups mentor Guy Sebastian, who is tipping them for a successful career. “Guy told us to keep in touch and he is excited for the fresh start of the Fisher Boys,” Tyler, 22, tells WHO of his plans to hit the studio with siblings Joshua, 20, Brandford, 19 and 16-year-old Conrad.

Tyler, how are you all feeling today?
Overall, we've had a mad time. Verdict night is crazy for everyone, but we are just going to make the most of this opportunity.

What didn’t audiences get to see of The Fisher Boys?
A massive part of who we are as a band is our original music. We can't wait to show the world our music!

How is your mentor Guy different to what we see on screens?
Guy is awesome and it's crazy how dedicated to helping us he is. And we’ll definitely stay in touch with him.

What was Guy’s most important piece of advice you’ll take away with you?
The most important advice he told us was to keep writing music and make sure we stay true to who we are.

Tell us about the vibe between the contestants. Is it getting competitive backstage?
Everyone is pretty tight—it was like one big old family! We were close to everyone, but especially Jess and Matt and Big T. The categories seemed to stick together a bit, but that’s because you spend so much time together. Jimmy and In Stereo are also good friends.

Who is hungriest to win?
Natalie [Conway] is pretty determined and focused in what she is doing. She’s had a taste of success already and her drive is a bit larger, as she knows more of what could be.

Which judge did you find most intimidating?
There is no Simon Cowell, but James Blunt can be a bit blunt–blunt by name, blunt by nature! He’s the wittiest of them all and we always had good lad-banter with him! All the judges seem like good, old friends.

Who are you tipping to go all the way?
It’s a tough one! We’d love a group to win, but at the moment Cyrus is killing it. We’d also love to see Big T win—he’s a Perth boy too.

And The Fisher Boys? What are your plans now?
We’ve been asked to do some festivals and events, but amongst all that we are going to try and hit the studio. Stay tuned!
