Little Girl Calmly Stands Up to Homophobic Preacher, Is Probably Our Future President

Love won on Friday, June 26, but not everyone agreed with the Supreme Court's historic decision to legalize gay marriage in all 50 states.

Several protesters, including a preacher, interrupted an impromptu gay pride celebration at the ComFest music festival in Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday, reports Bustle.

A video of the incident shows a man vehemently speaking against homosexuality, flanked by protesters carrying signs. In the clip, many festivalgoers ignore the ranting man, but one little girl decides to take a stand - no words needed.

Dressed in a colorful skirt and pigtails, first-grader Zea Bowling steps before the man and calmly holds a rainbow flag in front of his face. The preacher continues to shout, directing his words at Bowling, but she remains unruffled.

Soon, the child's simple but brave response begins to attract support, as strangers run up to the girl to give her high fives and words of praise.

"Zea didn't just flash the flag at that hatemonger and bail," Ryan Bowling, the girl's father, wrote on Facebook. "They went toe-to-toe, for several minutes, while he bellowed all of his fire and brimstone right in her face. Grown man vs. first grader. She told me afterward that she did feel scared. The one thing the people of #comfest2015 never let her feel though? Alone."

The girl's silent determination has already gone on to inspire countless people and a T-shirt.
