If her sexy Spring Breakers tour style didn’t already have you convinced, Selena Gomez is all grown up — and her gorgeous photos (and funny interview) in April’s issue of Harper’s BAZAAR prove it. She dishes on her style, her secret to silky locks and even her single life in the revealing new interview.
“I’m getting older, though I don’t look it at all,” the superstar says in her cover story. But that doesn’t mean she’s ready to dress older quite yet. “I do not give a damn what I look like, I really don’t,” she says.
Wearing one of her six flannel shirts during a video interview with the magazine, she says, “I look like this all the time. When I actually look presentable, it’s for an awards show.”
And even though she’s been looking flawless at events lately (in the video, she credits longtime stylist Basia Richard), she jokes, “Of course, when I’m on red carpets, I’m nervous, sweaty and weird.”
Gomez is much more sanguine when it comes to her just-ended relationship with Justin Bieber. “To make it as normal as possible — in such an abnormal lifestyle—was super important to both of us,” she says of her on and off beau of two years.
The attention on the starry pair was always doubly magnified, which didn't make things any easier, says Gomez. "It was, but that's not a factor for me because unfortunately you can't control that," she says. "To me, love is normal. Of course, you see Jay and Beyoncé and you're like, 'Oh, my gosh, they're perfect for each other,' but at the end of the day their love is just like everybody else's love. They have problems, I'm sure, and they solve them, like anybody else. So to make it as normal as possible—in such an abnormal lifestyle—was super important to both of us. Which was great ... " she trails off. "That's how it should be."
