Naomi Campbell Opens Up To ELLE

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has been branded many things in her life, but there’s one incident in particular that will always follow her famous name.

“I’m never gonna get away from [the cell phone throwing incident],” she says in the February issue of ELLE. “It’s part of my history. I was remorseful and regretful. I’ve served. I did that time. And I never want to be in that position again.”

Thankfully for Campbell, these days, the focus is on her upcoming reality competition show The Face, which tasks her (and costars Karolina Kurková and Coco Rocha) with finding the next face of ULTA Beauty. “I care for my girls. Every single one of them,” Campbell says of the up-and-comers she mentors on the Oxygen series. “I’m not here to put anyone down.”

As for comparisons to that other model-centric reality show, produced by that other supermodel? Campbell doesn’t really care.

“I don’t watch the other reality model shows,” she admits. “I’ll never have anything to say. If you ask me about Tyra Banks, I’m proud of her as a woman of color. She’s given girls opportunity, and God bless her.”
