Miranda Kerr, Keith Urban, John Travolta and Liam Hemsworth partied in style Wednesday Jan 9, at the star-studded Qantas Spirit of Australia cocktail bash, kicking off a week of events to celebrate the 10th anniversary of G'day USA.

Dressed in a "cute" Oscar de la Renta ruffled dress with trademark red lipstick, Qantas ambassador Kerr raved about son Flynn, who turned two on January 6. "He's just so sweet, interactive and a ball of love," said Kerr, who hosted a party for Flynn's 2nd birthday with 15 of his "little mates" complete with jumping castle, rabbits, chickens and a giant bubble machine.

Speaking on the red carpet at the luxe Montage Terrace in Beverly Hills, Kerr also put rocky marriage rumours to bed saying the key to her successful relationship with Orlando was "honesty, communication, patience and lots of Skype when we're apart." The couple also enjoy date nights at home "just cooking him a lovely meal; that’s really special."

As the crowd munched on delicacies created by famed chef Neil Perry, guest of honour Keith Urban gave an intimate 20-minute acoustic performance and stunned the audience when he convinced long-time Qantas ambassador John Travolta to join him on-stage for an impromptu duet of the Beatles' Yesterday.

Urban and wife Nicole Kidman have both been nominated for Golden Globes on Sunday night, which he described as "amazing" and "just magical".

Of G'day USA, Urban told the crowd "it's a privilege to be able to lend my support to promoting the beauty and culture of Australia." Urban has just returned from a 2-week family holiday in Sydney and his Southern Highlands property with Kidman and daughters Sunday,4, and Faith,2. "Christmas Day was a really special family time, even though Sunday woke up so excited at 5.20am to unwrap all the presents."

Said Travolta of his love of Australia: "The country has adopted me and I've adopted Australia. I love your openness, sense of freedom and you know how to party better than us Americans!"

Now in its 2nd year, the Qantas Spirit of Australia event, hosted by TV presenter Laura Csortan wearing a figure-skimming Alex Perry dress, aims to celebrate the success of Australians in America, including actors, artists, designers and sports stars.
