Less than a year after announcing their engagement on Twitter, Hamish Blake and Zoe Foster have taken to the social networking site to reveal they “snuck off” to tie knot in a secret ceremony.

“I didn’t know heartpounding, feet-off-the-ground joy til I snuck off on Tuesday to marry my beautiful Hame… And now, viva la funnymoon!” tweeted Foster this morning.

In a statement from the couple’s rep to WHO this afternoon, “Hamish Blake and Zoe Foster wish to announce that they married on the 11th December. The event was a private ceremony attended only by immediate family and a handful of witnesses. They are extremely happy, thank everyone for their well wishes, and are now using a well earned honeymoon overseas to recover from all the cake they ate.”

The cute couple, who met when author Foster enlisted the TV and radio funnyman to co-write her 2009 dating guide, Textbook Romance, got engaged last December while holidaying overseas. Tweeted Blake at the time, “Highlight of 2011? Proposing to @zotheysay! Couldn’t be happier… She said yes by the way!”

In October, Blake laughed off swirling rumours of a March 2013 wedding date, telling Melbourne’s Herald Sun newspaper of organizing a wedding, “It's crazy, and to be honest being engaged is just fun. You don't get that back and we love that that we have this moment and we want to be able to enjoy it.

Added Blake, 31, "We aren't going to put off being married for ever but we have only been engaged for nine months so there is no crazy rush.

The low-key pair are thought to have shunned the traditional celebrity route of selling their wedding photos to a magazine, but Foster has jokingly teased about what she might wear on her big day: “We’ve been watching a lot of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding and I have a preeeetty good idea of my dress already!”
