Get to know Keanu Reeves's girlfriend, Alexandra Grant
It appears that the “Sad Keanu” era - epitomised by a photo of actor Keanu Reeves sitting glumly along on a park bench - is finally over for the man who spawned the meme himself.
The 55-year-old arrived at the LACMA Art + Film Gala presented by Gucci hand-in-hand with his new girlfriend Alexandra Grant on November 2, sending social media into overdrive.
The notoriously private actor and the 46-year-old artist posed for cameras on the red carpet, which turns out to have been the covert couple’s third public appearance this year.
In May, the pair arrived at the MOCA Benefit 2019, followed by a similar red carpet showing a month later where they posed holding hands at the Saint Laurent Men’s Spring-Summer fashion show in Malibu.
While the Matrix star has yet to comment on their relationship, fans are thrilled that the actor has gone public with his lady love.
“Keanu Reeves has a girlfriend and I feel so personally happy for him,” one fan wrote on Twitter. “He’s such a sweetheart and honestly deserves all the happiness in the world.”
“Keanu Reeves’s happiness is the only thing everyone can agree upon,” another added.
Others were quick to point out the silver-haired beauty’s striking resemblance to another actor, Helen Mirren, who has since spoken out about the case of mistaken identity.

Who is Alexandra Grant?
Alexandra is a Los Angeles-based artist who divided her time growing up between Mexico City, Washington, D.C. and Paris.
Her work is on display in several galleries across LA, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
Although she told Los Angeles Weekly magazine that she “can’t imagine doing anything differently,” she initially attended college for mathematics before pursuing a graduate program in the arts in San Francisco.
Alexandra has been a longtime friend and collaborator with Keanu since they met in 2009. The pair have worked together twice, with Alexandra illustrating Keanu’s 2011 book, Ode to Happiness and co-authoring the 2016 photography and poetry project, Shadows.
In 2017, Keanu and Alexandra launched their own publishing company, X Artists’ Books. In a joint interview with Los Angeles Magazine, the pair revealed they were inspired to publish books that “don’t really have a place because they’re between genres.”
Alexandra told the magazine, “Some people are the kind of dreamers who have a lot of ideas but don’t like to get things done. I think we both like to have the idea and get it into the world.”
Aside from showcasing her artwork internationally, Alexandra is a dedicated philanthropist, raising money for Los Angeles art projects and charities through her organization, grantLOVE.
