'Wheel of Fortune' Fans Say Ryan Seacrest Made His First 'Blooper' as Host

While fans have been divided over Ryan Seacrest's performance as the new host of Wheel of Fortune, many seem to agree that the star made his first real "blooper" last week.

On the Friday, Oct. 4 episode of Wheel of Fortune, which wrapped up the BetMGM Big Winners Tournament, contestant Cody Hunger entered the bonus round with $27,150 in cash and a prize trip to Atlantic City, hoping to win the $94,900 jackpot.

After spinning the wheel, Hunger immediately solved the puzzle correctly as "Out of the Way."

But instead of congratulating him, Seacrest paused—even as Vanna White smiled and started clapping.

Finally, after a few seconds of silence, Seacrest confirmed the win.

“Cody? That’s it,” Seacrest said, much to Hunger's apparent relief.

“You got it! Congratulations,” Seacrest added as confetti swirled through the air.

As TV Insider reported, Seacrest's delayed reaction became a topic of discussion on Reddit, where fans debated the strange moment in a thread titled “How about that pause."

“What a nightmare for the guy as he had to wait for Ryan to wake up and tell him he got the puzzle," wrote the OP.

“Lol I love Ryan but that’s his first blooper hahaha,” declared one Wheel watcher.

“The pause was robotic. Didn’t even say what he had won with the solve,” complained another person.

“The pause, I believe, is due to the producers wanting to build up drama,” argued someone else. “It’s happened a few times now with Ryan. Not a fan of the way the show’s being produced since he’s taken over the lead. Jusss Saying… It was quite awkward.”
