That might be a sign you’ve been having a few too many wines. Good news is Dry July is about to kick off, which means you can legit put yourself in liquor lockdown, while raising money for people with cancer. Smug smiles all round.

Need even more incentive? Sure we know ditching alcohol does good things health wise, but did you know it could also be the easiest way you’ve ever lost weight?

Dry July ambassador Dr Cris Beer (Best. Name. Ever) explains exactly what happens to your body when you ditch the booze for a couple of weeks.

You’ll finally fit into those skinny jeans you bought on sale

Dropping the kilos doesn’t get any simpler than this. Put the wine down and watch your waist magically reappear. “Those who cut out alcohol can expect to lose on average two to four kilograms over the course of one month without making any other changes,” says Dr Cris.

You’ll turn into Sleeping Beauty

If you’re doing Dry July, expect to look fresh-faced too, with Dr Cris revealing your sleep quality can improve by 10 percent. What with the weight loss and your wide-awake peepers, you’ll be looking like a new woman…

You’ll slay it at work

Not that you roll into work hungover or anything (and that’s the story we’re sticking to), but expect to have Rainman-like focus during your day. Research claims going teetotal can improve your concentration by around 18 percent. “Studies have indicated that cutting out alcohol can improve psychological performance and, in particular, the ability to concentration for prolonged periods of time,” says Dr Cris.

You’ll basically feel a million bucks

Reduced anxiety levels. Reduced liver fat by up to 20 percent. Lowered blood glucose levels and blood cholesterol. Yep, all these things will happen too. Not to mention you’ll be able to make it rain with all the spare cash you haven’t blown on cocktails.
