The NFL has seen a boost in viewers, thanks, it seems, to Travis Kelce's high-profile relationship with Taylor Swift. It should come as no surprise that the new fans are learning the rules of the sport (CBS even published a "basic rules for Swifties"guide), but even longtime viewers might be surprised to find out that they have one of the basics wrong: How to pronounce Kelce.

Travis and Jason Kelce have both been in the NFL for more than a decade, and the duo became the first brothers to compete in the Super Bowl (propelling even their mother, Donna, to stardom). But their dad, Ed, revealed on their New Heights podcast that everyone is saying their last name incorrectly. If this is news to you, don't worry: Even Travis, Jason, and Donna were surprised.

Ed (who met Taylor when she attended the Chiefs game on October 12) explained to his sons that their last name is actually pronounced "Kels," not "Kel-see" Jason asked, "Why in the world did you change your name out of nowhere?" Ed explained that he didn't change his name: "I never changed my name out of nowhere. I got tired of correcting people."

Jason said, "That doesn't explain why we thought it was Kel-see," and Ed replied, "Because your mother thought it was Kel-see!" Jason, incredulous, asked, "Why did she think it was Kels-see?"

Ed said, "That was the name that I went by at work. That was my work name. Everybody at work did that, so I just said, 'fine. Screw this.'"

Jason then asked his dad, "Should we go by 'Kels' or 'Kel-see'?" and Ed replied, "Do whatever you want. I did."

Travis decided, "You can be f***ing Jason Kel-see, I'll be f***ing Travis Kels."

There you have it! Whether you're cheering on the Eagles or the Chiefs, you can choose how to pronounce the Kelce family name.
