F1 races have long been celebrity hot spots; I think about Jacob Elordi at the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix almost daily. But from my bird’s eye view of the Las Vegas Strip at the Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix this past weekend, it was clear this fairly young race (it’s only its second year) is no exception. While George Russell, Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, and co. were circling laps around some of Sin City’s most iconic landmarks (the Sphere's expressive smiley face display was such a main character), I observed the rumors to be true about the full-on clout fest that transpires in a big race’s shadow. Within my first half hour up in The Paddock Club—where stars drink, dine, and hang during the race—I bore witness to Paul Wesley inquiring about the location of the salmon station and Coco Jones gorgeously waiting in line for some nigiri...and those were just my seafood-related observations.
I was invited by Heineken 0.0 to join their Paddock Club suite. (I did not sneak in, despite what my nonexistent public profile might lead you to believe.) While there, I spotted huge names and took mental notes: Nicholas Hoult is taller than I expected. High-level brand execs are not immune to geeking out over an Adele sighting. Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s friend really liked my jacket. (No follow-up compliment from Aaron himself. Sad.) Brad Pitt even hit the grid with a stunt double to film a fainting scene for his new Formula One movie—something I didn’t even realize was allowed, but good for him, I guess.
Before the cars went vroom, many of the event’s stars in attendance stopped by Heineken Silver’s red carpet downstairs to have their attendance documented more officially than grainy fan selfies and DeuxMoi-spotted submissions.
