Wendy's wants you to know you can count on them when you need a sweet treat — especially when the other guy's dessert machine is broken. It's even giving you a deal to prove it.

On Wednesday, Wendy's announced it partnered with the developer of McBroken.com, a website that tracks when and where a McDonald's ice cream machine is broken, to find which destinations see the most downtime. According to their findings, those in Chicago, Houston, Las Vegas, New York, and Los Angeles suffer the most frequent McDonald's ice cream outages, making the Wendy's Frosty look all the more enticing.

"Using data from McBroken.com, Wendy's saw that dessert fans are faced with ice cream machine outages all too often and knew just what the fix was — a Frosty," the brand shared in a press release. "Wendy's knows that when fans are craving a sweet treat, they deserve to have a reliable and delicious option. To make sure that fans with a sweet tooth are covered, Wendy's is mobilizing to bring consumers Frosty treats in their times of greatest need."

Not only is Wendy's reminding you that you can always snag a Frosty, it's also enticing fans by offering them a small frosty for just $1 from now through September 30, including its Chocolate Frosty and the grand return of its Vanilla Frosty flavor.

"The craving for a sweet treat can strike at any time, but if fans are planning to order from the other guys, they might want to avoid lunch or snack time … or really anytime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. when machines are most often unavailable, according to McBroken.com data," Wendy's added. "For Frosty fanatics that need a fix sooner rather than later, visit the Wendy's app to locate the nearest restaurant and grab a small Frosty treat for just a buck until September 30."

There is also one more announcement from Wendy's that you should keep an eye out for in the coming weeks, and that is for a new Frosty flavor. In late August, Food & Wine reported on a leaked internal memo between Wendy's and Paramount, showing the two may be working together to bring both the Krabby Patty from Spongebob to life, along with a limited edition Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty. However, this promotion isn't expected to go live until October, but maybe we'll get lucky with another Frosty deal then too.
