Takeaway-loving woman drops 10 dress sizes after holiday of a lifetime 'ruined' by weight
A woman who used to eat five takeaways a week has lost five stone – over a third of her body weight – after a holiday was ruined due to her size.
Amy Hodgson, 24, weighed 14 stone (st) 12 pounds (lbs) before her weight loss, and was a dress size 16/18.
She refused to pose for photos with her boyfriend during a trip to Iceland, because she was so worried about her size.

The 5”4 teacher, who comes from Liverpool, says her trip to Iceland with her boyfriend Jonathan was “ruined” after she was handed an XXL sized robe.
She said: “Visiting Iceland was supposed to be the trip of a lifetime, but I felt like it’d been ruined because of how I felt about my weight.
“I felt embarrassed to be in a swimsuit and that’s just not me at all – before I gained weight I was so confident and comfortable with myself.
"When we went to collect our robes I was handed an XXL – the same size as Jonathan,” she added.
After Amy returned from holiday, her sister asked her to join Slimming World – and this was the motivation she needed to drop the weight.
She said: “I decided to stop putting it off and just went for it. I’d tried so many diets in the past but they were all quick fixes – I knew if I wanted to get rid of the extra weight for good I had to make changes for life.”
The diet proved “a revelation” for Amy, who says she “couldn’t believe how much [she] could eat.”

"I’d been having four to five takeaways a week before joining Slimming World, so this new way of looking at food was a revelation,” she added. "I went from barely cooking at all to being the chef of the house.”
Now a slim dress size 8/10, Amy has lost 5st 3lbs, and now weighs 9st 9lbs.

Lunch: A shop-bought sandwich with crisps and a bottle of coke
Dinner: Burger meal from a fast food restaurant or a takeaway kebab with chips

Lunch: A large homemade salad with a bottle of water and some fresh fruit
Dinner: Pan-fried salmon with sweet chilli dressing, served with rice and vegetables
