Wedding guest trolled for upstaging bride in sweeping white gown
There are so many rules to bear in mind when it comes to wedding attendance, that the occasional blunder is inevitable and often forgivable.
There is however, one cardinal rule that is so etched into the public consciousness that to defy it it is to invite the scorn not only of the bride and groom, but on occasion fo the entire internet.
That is of course, wearing white to another woman’s wedding.
The bridal gown vs the bride
One foolhardy woman is feeling the burn after she not only defied this rule, but opted for a dress so bridal in look, many couldn’t distinguish her from the bride.
The jaw-dropping gown that the guest chose to wear was a trailing, fitted, floor-length gown in pure white lace that even included a small train.
A photo shared to a wedding group on Facebook shows the offending merrymaker posing in a group with the bride and groom, though you could be forgiven for not being sure who is who.
The bride is also wearing a white lace dress, with only her higher neckline and capped sleeves distinguishing the two.
Outcry online
“That is straight up a wedding dress,” one woman wrote. “It’s fancier than the brides.”
“This is so f*cking tacky,” another wrote.
“This is despicable,” another agreed.
Others pointed out that the two ladies looked genuinely interchangeable, and blasted the woman for stealing the bride’s thunder - whichever one she was.
“Looks like two brides,” one pointed out.
“She must really f*cking hate the bride because she totally upstaged her,” another wrote.
One even went so far as to label the dress fail as ‘the worst one yet’.
It’s not the first cringe-worthy move from a wedding guest.
One guest recently came under fire for rocking a very revealing plunging mini dress to a wedding, while one bride didn’t escape scrutiny after she decked out her bridesmaids in some very unfortunate ‘vulva gowns’.
