Weather presenter's bizarre Halloween costume stumps viewers

A weather presenter's bizarre Halloween costume has left some viewers stumped, and others in stitches.

Jodi Hughes, the weekend weather anchor for Global News in Calgary, got into the festive spirit by donning a bird-inspired outfit for Sunday's extra spooky bulletin.

Jodi wore a purple feathered top, blue tutu and a unique pair of leggings that took full advantage of the studio's green screen.

To viewers at home, Jodi's human legs appeared to have been switched with the spindly orange stems of a bird.

But, in reality, the TV presenter's 'chicken legs' were stuck to her bright green leggings that disappeared once she stepped in front of the green screen, leaving her curiously part-bird from the knees down.

While it was just a bit of TV magic, Jodi's Halloween get-up certainly turned a few heads. One viewer couldn't contain their laughter while sharing a snippet of Jodi's bulletin on Instagram.

"Look at her legs!" they exclaimed.

Over on Twitter, Jodi posted a hilarious video of her dancing to "The Chicken Dance" with some of her co-workers — or her 'flock' as she called them.

"Hey - what we lack in rhythm we made up for in…um… feathers?!" she wrote.

Her fans loved the 'silly' clip and thanked Jodi for adding a little humour to their Halloween.

"Jodi, it was hilarious watching you dance around in your awesome costume on today's morning show! Thank you!!" one tweeted.

"Look at those legs! Great work team," added another.

"You looked awesome. Ranks up there with Jordan’s unicorn," added a third in reference to Jordan Witzel, a former weather presenter who dressed as a unicorn in 2019.
