PEOPLE confirmed the other driver was charged with hit and run, battery and DUI following the alleged incident in Malibu Sunday night
Wayne Brady was reportedly involved in a physical altercation with another driver after his car was allegedly hit on Sunday night by a man later charged with DUI.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff Department confirmed to PEOPLE that a traffic accident occurred involving two drivers — the Let’s Make a Deal host and a 51-year-old male — on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California.
Following the incident, PEOPLE has learned the drivers allegedly got into an intense argument that turned physical when they pulled over to exchange information.
"Wayne is so upset about this incident with drunk driver. As a father, he was just thankful it was not his daughter or anyone’s child dealing with this," a source tells PEOPLE. "He kept thinking what if it was his daughter."
Brady, 51, called 911, but the other driver allegedly drove away before authorities arrived, according to TMZ, who was first to report the news. The comedian did not need to be taken to the hospital following the fight.
Authorities tell PEOPLE the other driver was later arrested for hit and run, battery and DUI after the incident. The source confirmed Brady filed battery charges against the other driver.
