Watch Kevin Bacon Make the 3-Ingredient Pancakes He Cooks for Wife Kyra Sedgwick on Sundays (Exclusive)
Not only are the pancakes 'absolutely delicious,' says the 'Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon' podcast host, but 'they’re really, really good for you'
He’s best known for his roles in movies like Footloose and a Few Good Men and can currently be seen in Leave the World Behind, but at home, Kevin Bacon is famous for his banana pancakes.
“Sometimes what I do on Sunday morning, when I’m feeling like I need a little power — and usually this happens when my wife, Kyra, is asleep, so I have to whisper — I make these pancakes that don’t have any flour,” says Bacon, 65, who is featured in People’s Sexiest Man Alive issue, out now. “The response is good. People are like, ‘Wow, is that a pancake? You don’t have any flour in this at all, huh?’”
Consisting of 3 ingredients, namely eggs, banana and almond butter, the pancake is one of the actor’s signature dishes.

“The banana makes it sweet, the almond butter gives you tons of protein and the egg makes it hold together,” he says. “They’re absolutely delicious. They’re really, really good for you, but even if they weren’t good for you, I would still make them.”
Bacon, an avid home cook since his days as a struggling young actor in New York City, isn’t much of a recipe follower and says he’s more “loosey goosey” in the kitchen than Sedgwick.

“Now, here’s the thing about me as a cook. I have no idea about measurements. I just never measured things,” explains the actor. “[Kyra] likes to have the recipe and read it, and follow it. I rarely follow a recipe. I love recipes because I learn something new, I get inspired by something. I like that stuff, but I generally adjust it.”
He gussies up the banana pancakes with cinnamon, and for kids, a blueberry smiley face. As for his own grown children, Travis, 34 and Sosie, 31, Bacon believes he and Sedgwick modeled the importance of cooking for yourself.
“Did I teach them how [to cook]? Not really, but if they see us cooking night after night [and] pretty much every night when they were little had a meal as a family, that was part of the deal,” he adds.
