Watch out for these 6 games from the Nintendo Indie World Showcase

Nintendo highlighted over 20 titles in its Indie World Showcase. All of them look wonderful but there are six games in particular that you should check out.

Hades

Hades is a rogue-like action RPG from Supergiant Games, the critically acclaimed studio behind Bastion, Transistor and Pyre. Players take on the role of Zagreus, son of Hades and the prince of the Underworld, who is on a quest to escape his father and reach Mount Olympus.

Hades is coming to Switch later in 2020. Players of the PC version will also be able to port their progress over to the Switch edition.

Spiritfarer

Spiritfarer is another story about death but with a softer touch. It stars Stella, a spiritfarer who transports the souls of the dead into the afterlife.

The game is part platformer, part management sim (you get to upgrade and motif your boat), part Animal Crossing and party therapy session. As a spiritfarer, Stella will also comfort and spend time with the spirits under her watch until it’s time to send them home.

Spiritfarer is available now on Switch.

Takeshi & Hiroshi

Takeshi & Hiroshi is a very meta game about, well, making video games. Takeshi is a young game designer who aspires to refine his craft and his little brother Hiroshi is his most devoted playtester.

Players will have to strike a careful balancing act when making Takeshi’s games. The games must be engaging and challenging but not so hard that Takeshi can’t beat them.

Takeshi & Hiroshi is available now on Switch.

Card Shark

Card Shark is a game where you’re encouraged to cheat. As the yet unnamed card shark, players will be traveling through 18th century France, fleecing nobles with sleight of hand and hopefully avoiding a flintlock shot to the face.

Card Shock is scheduled to release in 2021.

Raji: An Ancient Epic

Raji: An Ancient Epic is the first game from India-based studio Nodding Heads Games. Heavily inspired by Hindu and Balinese mythology, Raji is about a young girl chosen by the gods to defend humanity against a demonic invasion and her personal quest to save her brother.

Raji is available now on Switch as a timed Nintendo exclusive.

Untitled Goose Game

Untitled Goose Game was the runaway hit of 2019 where players took on the role of a very annoying goose terrorizing an otherwise pleasant English village.

The game is introducing a two-player coop mode so you can steal clothing, sabotage food and harass crying children with a friend.

Untitled Goose Game is available on Switch and the co-op mode will go live on September 23.
