Washington's Dwayne Haskins leaves game with ankle injury
Washington rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins was off to a strong start against the New York Giants on Sunday, completing his first 10 passes. He finished the first half 12-of-15 for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
But on the first offensive snap of the third quarter, Haskins was sacked by Markus Golden and Lorenzo Carter. The 7-yard loss wasn’t the worst of the play: Haskins suffered a left ankle injury and had to be carted off the field.
Case Keenum replaced Haskins at quarterback and helped lead Washington to a game-tying, 99-yard drive with 29 seconds left in regulation. The Redskins eventually lost in overtime, 41-35.
