Washington Wizards star John Wall apologized on Sunday morning after a video surfaced on social media that showed him flashing gang signs at a party.

Wall was seen at a party in New York City on Saturday night, shirtless and not wearing a mask.

“First and foremost I want to apologize to my family, my teammates and all of those that have always supported me,” Wall tweeted. “I made a mistake, something I regret. I will continue to work hard to be better on the court and more importantly off the court.”

Wall has made various hand gestures and gang signs during games in the past, too, including during the 2015 playoffs.

The 30-year-old last played during the 2018-19 season, though tore his Achilles after just 32 games. He was averaging 20.7 points and 8.7 assists per game up to that point. Wall missed all of this season recovering, though is expected to return for the start of next season.

The former No. 1 overall draft pick signed a massive four-year, $171 million deal with the Wizards just before he got hurt and is under contract for two more seasons.
