It wouldn’t be unusual if you occasionally wished you had a personal chef working for you. After a long week, or even in the midst of a lazy weekend, the daydream of having someone else do the work of serving up a meal seems like the most worthwhile luxury. But seeing as most of us can’t hire a personal chef, the next best thing is to have appliances that minimize the effort it takes to prepare food. And perhaps the most versatile appliance of the bunch — given its small size and range of features — is a Vitamix Explorian.

Capable of making you feel like you have a sous chef in your kitchen, the Vitamix Explorian 48-oz. Variable Speed Blender is currently on sale for more than $150 off its standard price. For $340, or five Easy Pay installments of $67.99, you can make it a cinch to perfect recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner using its 16 different functions and 10 speeds. This offer also comes with a 32-oz. dry container (for things like coffee beans), as well as a Whole Grains cookbook with 54 recipes and First Blends cookbook with 11 recipes. In other words, you’d be all set. Plus, if you're a first-time QVC shopper, you can grab an extra $10 off with code FRIEND.

Chop up vegetables for salsa, blend fruits for a smoothie, combine ingredients for ice cream and create the ideal consistency for soups. The Vitamix Explorian combines the qualities of a food processor, coffee grinder, cheese grater, hand-mixer and more into a form that fits beneath most standard cabinets. You’ll have the simplicity of relying on one item, while still being able to tailor it to your exact needs. See it in action here.

Shoppers who’ve hired this countertop sous chef feel like its talents have made all the difference in their kitchens.

One reviewer says, “I’ve had mine for several years and I would trade just about every small appliance I’ve ever had for my Vitamix. Super effective, super efficient, reliable, and durable.” Another agrees, noting, “They are the best. I am glad it comes with a good warranty, and will never go back to an ordinary blender.” And for a truly stellar review, one person described exactly how it’s made a difference so far:

“As for this machine: It is top of the line. Perfect for two people. I’ve made broccoli cheese soup — luscious and creamy. The potato bacon cheese soup is amazing. Hummus tastes exactly like Sabra. ‘Going Green’ smoothie tastes exactly like Smoothie King at a fraction of the cost. I leave mine on [the] counter because we use it daily and it’s so clean and classy looking. Next we try peanut butter and homemade breadcrumbs and flour for bread. Only problem I had was trying to make frozen desserts. Will try again! Love this Vitamix.”

The base of the blender comes in either “Willow Blue” or “Lemon Cream,” and is installed with a two horsepower motor to break down a variety of goods. A handy tamper is also included to help mix every item well, and the containers themselves are BPA-free. Lastly, the Vitamix Explorian has a five-year warranty for the machine and a one-year warranty for the accessories, so you can have this sous chef ready to go for countless meals to come.

“I've heard about Vitamix for years and never thought it was something that warranted spending $400+ to get. My want-to-be Vitamix blenders were never able to blend the seeds from strawberries, raspberries, etc. This one does and does it perfectly. I've tried multiple Bullets, KitchenAid Diamond Blender, Ninja... all worked well enough on ice but none of them were able to get those seeds that were always getting stuck in my teeth. This Vitamix makes the best smoothies I've ever had! And the included tamper that you can use it's mixing — amazing! I haven't tried soups or gravy yet, but I'm looking forward to it. If you are on the fence like I was, give it a try. QVC offers a great return policy, so you have nothing to lose.”
