“Vanderpump Rules” Star Katie Maloney Creates Press-On Nails with Quickies: 'No Brainer' (Exclusive)
The Bravo star chats with PEOPLE about her design inspiration and her trick to nailing a long-lasting manicure
Some people dip their toes into new ventures. Katie Maloney is dipping her hands in.
The Vanderpump Rules star has an affinity for a do-it-yourself manicure, and that has led to her new collaboration with Quickies, which offers a wide selection of salon-quality press-on nails.
Working with the brand was a "no-brainer" for Maloney, 36, who fell for the brand after exchanging casual DMs with its founder Bailey Stanworth.
“I've tried all of them out there. They have the best designs and packaging,” Maloney tells PEOPLE exclusively at a Los Angeles launch party celebrating the collection.
The Katie Maloney x Quickies Press-On Nail Collection, officially launching on Nov. 1, is a reflection of the star's taste and includes a mixture of "edgy yet feminine" salon-style art, says Stanworth. A bonus: each of the sets retail for under $22.
Of her inspirations, Maloney says she thought about both designs she'd loved in the past and ones she gravitates toward now.
“The classic black French [manicure] is one that I recycle all the time. The tortoise ones [in this collection] are a twist on a neutral. I'm emulating my own vibe.”
Her current go-to: “I'm a big fan of the negative space [manivure]. I'm definitely favoring these,” Maloney says of the design, which features an opaque base accented with metallic lining and silver studs.

Maloney was fully involved in coming up with the concepts, and when asked if she turned to her VPR castmates for input, she joked, “You know I never ask.”
Maloney’s nails see it all, whether she’s filming the Emmy-nominated Bravo series, test-running sandwiches for her upcoming West Hollywood café with costar Ariana Madix, Something About Her, or hanging with her pups, Gordo and Butter. She will also be one of the many Bravolebrities attending this year’s BravoCon in Las Vegas from Nov. 3-5.

But, she’s found the key to getting her faux mani to hold up amid her busy schedule.
“It's all in the prep,” she tells PEOPLE. “I will buff, then use rubbing alcohol [to remove existing polish or extra oil] and a fair amount of glue. I can get a good two weeks out of them and they won't go anywhere until I want them too.”
For any beginners though, Quickies makes the application process easy.
A QR code on the back of their packaging leads to a website page outlining instructions on how to properly apply the press-ons under 10 minutes for results that last up to two to three weeks.

Maloney’s foray into the beauty space comes on the heels of what she describes as a “fun summer,” some of which fans will see play out on season 11 of Vanderpump Rules.
“Last summer was a sad summer for me, but this summer's a fun summer,” she tells PEOPLE, referring to life after filing for divorce from costar and ex-husband Tom Schwartz, which was documented last season. (The now-exes made their debut on the series as a couple in 2013 and were together a total of 12 years before announcing their split last year.)
When the show drops, expect her to make the most of flying solo. “I just know that I was very, very single, so that will be fun to watch.”
