Valerie Bertinelli may be known these days for her work in the culinary world, but fans have hopes she'll come back to acting thanks to a surprise throwback moment with none other than Mariska Hargitay.

Folks may not have been aware of the duo's long-term friendship, but Valerie showed off their decades-long bond by posting an unexpected Instagram photo of the two that dated back to 1997. The image featured her and the Law and Order: SVU star cheesing for the cameras, all while they both donned animal hats with big horns on their heads. Although Valerie admitted she couldn't remember exactly why she and Mariska were wearing the unique clothing choice, she jokingly told her followers not to come for her in the caption.

"#tbt 1997 Me and Mariska in moose hats. I don’t remember why so please don’t ask me why. 🫎 😝," she wrote on November 14. "Okay okay they’re not moose hats I don’t know wtf they are 😂 (me and Mariska in big horn sheep hats doesn’t have the same ring to it) Just go with it. Sheesh."

Given how most folks didn't realize Valerie and Mariska had a friendship that dates back almost 30 years, they couldn't help but voice how they'd love to see her back on TV in a certain capacity.

"Would love to see you on an episode of law & order svu!" one person wrote. "That would be so dope!" another replied. "@therealmariskahargitay make it happen! Lol," a different follower added.

If that wasn't enough, Valerie seemed into the idea of appearing on Law and Order: SVU as well. "Me too!" she replied to the initial comment on Instagram.

While we don't exactly know if it'll happen, we could see Valerie popping up on the hit drama someday! After all, she does have a long acting career, dating back to 1975 when she starred on the sitcom One Day at a Time. As for her work in the drama space, she portrayed Gloria on the series Touched by an Angel from 2001 to 2003 and received a SAG Award nomination for the role.

Now, if only we could get Valerie to make an appearance on SVU, our lives would be set!
