Who Is Usain Bolt’s Girlfriend? All About Kasi Bennett
Usain Bolt and Kasi Bennett share three kids
World record holder Usain Bolt may be the fastest man alive, but his girlfriend Kasi Bennett captured his heart with ease.
The Jamaican model began dating Bolt in 2013, but the couple kept the relationship private for as long as possible.
"She’s happy, I’m happy!” Bolt told PEOPLE in 2016. He expressed wanting to have a relationship like his parents, Wellesley and Jennifer Bolt, who spent a decade together before they got married. “I want to have what my parents have. I want to take my time to make sure everything is perfect.”
The couple share three children: daughter, Olympia Lightning Bolt, who was born in 2020, and twin sons, Thunder Bolt and Saint Leo Bolt, who were born in 2021.
“I’ve always said I want three kids,” Bolt added. “The other day I hung out with my buddy who has three kids and it was crazy. I was like ‘Hmmmm do I really want 3 kids?’ But yes, yes I do. I’m sure of it.”
So who is Usain Bolt’s girlfriend? Here's everything to know about Kasi Bennett and her relationship with the athlete.
She is from Jamaica
Like Bolt, Bennett is from Jamaica. In a 2016 profile with Jamaican journalist Ian Boyne, Bolt shared that his girlfriend was an “uptown Jamaica girl.”
The pair have shared photos celebrating Carnival, an annual celebration of island culture and heritage held in the spring, over the years. In 2016, Bolt captioned a photo on Instagram of them celebrating, “President And First Lady” accompanied by a victorious emoji.
They kept their romance under wraps for years
The Jamaican sprinter wanted to keep their relationship private for as long as possible to try to protect Bennett from media scrutiny.
“I have explained to her that when it comes out, it’s not going to be as she thinks it’s going to be,” he told Boyne before Bennett’s identity was known. “A lot of people will try to attack her, so I tell her to just take it easy and let’s make sure that you’re ready for this.”
He continued, “I don’t definitely hide ... but we don’t try to put it out in the media like ‘here she is’ because I personally know what’s going to happen.”
They made their relationship public during the 2016 Olympic Games
Bennett couldn’t contain her excitement as Bolt sprinted toward the history books at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
“The story is already written. Time to publish #LEGEND,” she captioned an Instagram photo of Bolt from behind with his signature lightning bolt emoji.
On X (formerly known as Twitter) Bennett answered questions from fans about nerves during the Games, as well as shared her excitement after Bolt clinched three gold medals.
“What did I say?! My Boss did that! #TeamBolt," Bennett posted accompanied by a heart and Jamaican flag emoji.
They went Instagram official in September 2016
Shortly after Bolt’s victorious Olympic performance in 2016, the couple vacationed in Bora Bora.
During the trip, Bennett shared a photo of Bolt giving her a one-armed embrace and it marked the first public photo together for the duo.
She captioned the snap, “All that matters ⚡️.”
They announced they were expecting their first child in 2020
In January 2020, Bolt announced he and Bennett were expecting their first child with a photo of the mom to be wearing a red dress that showed off her baby bump.
“I just want to say a KING or QUEEN is about to be HERE. @kasi.b,” he captioned the photo.
The athlete admitted in a 2020 interview with PEOPLE he was nervous to be a first-time dad.
“My girlfriend is really excited, she’s excited to be pregnant,” he said at the time. “And I’m like, ‘What am I going to do, I’m about to be a dad.’ You know? I’m that guy.”
Bennett gave birth to their baby girl in May 2020
The happy news was announced by Jamaica’s Prime Minister on X in May 2020.
“Congratulations to our sprint legend Usain Bolt (@usainbolt) and Kasi Bennett on the arrival of their baby girl!” the post read.
In July 2020, Bennett shared a carousel of photos to Instagram of their daughter, including the baby’s name: Olympia Lightning.
“My gift ... Olympia Lightning Bolt,” she captioned the snaps of the infant wearing a pink tulle gown with rhinestones and matching headband.
In May 2023, the proud dad wished his daughter a happy birthday with a carousel of photos posted to Instagram.
“Know that daddy loves you very much and would give you the world,” Bolt captioned the photos.
They welcomed twin sons in 2021
On June 20, 2021, Bolt shared on Instagram that the couple had welcomed twin boys in a neutral-toned photoshoot featuring the whole family. The proud dad posed beside Bennett and daughter Olympia, while the infants slept. The boys’ names were revealed in the caption.
“Olympia Lightning Bolt ⚡️Saint Leo Bolt ⚡️ Thunder Bolt ⚡️,” the dad of three captioned the photo.
After welcoming his sons, Bolt told PEOPLE in 2021 that fatherhood is more difficult than being a world record–holding Olympian.
"[It's harder] being a father of three, of all of them, especially when they're crying," Bolt said. "It's great, but everybody's crying. It's pandemonium in the house."
In June 2023, Bennett shared a video of family moments to Instagram in celebration of Father’s Day.
“Happy Father’s Day to our Superdad!” she wrote in a tribute Bolt. “Thank you for not only being a present dad but being the most active daddy in the world. You put your family first ALWAYS. You love, protect and spoil us beyond measure every second of every day. My kids have the most humble, talented and respectful figure to emulate and I couldn’t be more grateful. You are the backbone of this family and we love you and salute the daddy you are forever and a day.”
She is active on social media
The mom of three is active on X, frequently reposting content from other users, and Instagram, where she shares everything from sweet birthday tributes to Bolt and their kids to the family’s travels.
“I tell you all the time that you are one in a million and I mean that in every way,” the mom of three captioned a recent tribute to Bolt. “Thank you for putting the kids and myself first ALWAYS, in everything you do. We love you so much baby!”
Bennett is also active on TikTok, where she shares relatable videos about being productive and behind-the-scenes peeks at life as a family of five.
