Urgent recall issued for popular ice cream
A recall has been issued for a popular ice cream product sold at Woolworths supermarkets over fears it has been contaminated with metal.
Food Standards for Australia and New Zealand issued the recall notice for Woolworths Cookies & Cream Classic Ice Cream Sandwiches 4 Pack (440mL) on Wednesday.
The product has a best before date of November 2, 2024.
It has been available for sale at Woolworths in VIC, NSW, QLD and ACT.
The recall said it is due to the presence of foreign matter (metal).
“Food products containing metal may cause illness/injury if consumed.
“Consumers should not eat this product and should return the product to their nearest Woolworths Supermarket or Woolworths Metro for a full refund.”
