An urgent product safety recall has been issued for a recliner chair sold by Aldi due to 'risk of serious injury'.
The chair, identifiable by the Sohl Furniture label on the back of the footrest, was deemed 'defective' by Product Safety Australia in a statement on April 15.
"The recliner chair may be unstable and may tip over during use," PSA states.
The statement goes on to say that if the chair does tip over, the person using the chair and others nearby could be at risk of 'serious injury'.
A tipping incident could also cause 'damage to property'.
Aldi customers who own a recliner chair are advised to stop using the product immediately and return it to any ALDI store for a full refund.
The recliner chair was on sale at Aldi stores nationwide from 20 January 2021 to 22 February 2021. The product code is 704625.
For further information, customers can contact the ALDI recall helpline on 1800 362 778 or visit the website.
