‘UnPrisoned’ Canceled After 2 Seasons At Hulu
There will be no third season for UnPrisoned, star Kerry Washington announced Friday on Instagram. The show aired as part of the Onyx Collective brand on Hulu.

“Making this show was a labor of love. And we know that so many of you found connection and healing with The Alexander Family – and that their impact will live on! We are soooooo grateful to the entire cast & crew – who are not only brilliant and hardworking, but a JOY to work with! Thank you to our fellow producers and all our writers and directors for leading and guiding and inspiring us. Thank you to ABCS, Hulu & Onyx for giving us a creative home. And most importantly, we are grateful to YOU ALL – for watching, laughing, crying, yelling, dancing, eye-rolling, cheering (and all of the things between) along with us each episode. It was such a blessing. And we thank you ❤️ OK! I don’t want to make this all sad, so I would LOOOOOOVE if you commented below 👇🏾 your favorite moment from the show. We shared a few of ours in this video 😍”
Inspired by creator Tracy McMillan’s life, UnPrisoned followed a messy but perfectionist relationship therapist, social media influencer and single mom, Paige Alexander (Washington), whose life is turned right-side-up when her dad, Edwin Alexander (Delroy Lindo), gets out of prison and moves in with her and her teenage son Finn (Faly Rakotohavana).
At the end of Season 2, McMillan left things open for a potential third season that would focus on Paige’s mother.
