United Airlines Creates Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce-Themed Flight Numbers for Super Bowl
The flight numbers come after Swift supported boyfriend Kelce at the AFC Championship Game on Sunday
United Airlines is paying special tribute to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift during this year’s Super Bowl!
On Sunday, the airline announced six direct flights between Kansas City, Missouri, and Las Vegas for the game — and each one carries a special flight number created in honor of the couple, who kissed on the playing field after Kansas City Chiefs’ AFC Championship win on Sunday
Among the new flight numbers listed is UA 1989, which "Swifties" will immediately recognize as the name of the “Karma” singer’s 2014 and 2023 re-recorded album. UA 2287 is also listed as a nod to Swift’s 2012 hit song “22" and Kelce's "87" jersey number.
The third flight number added is UA 1587, which combines the jersey numbers of Kelce and Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

“These special flights will provide direct flights for more than 1,000 Kansas City fans to get to Vegas to cheer on the Chiefs,” the airline said in a release.
“United is flying its largest Super Bowl schedule ever this year adding more than 40 special flights total, which will help 14,000 more fans across the country get to the big game.”

On Sunday, the singer was seen celebrating in the stands at M&T Bank Stadium after the Chiefs' 17-10 win against the Baltimore Ravens as she was joined by friends and family.
After the game, Kelce and Swift also shared a celebratory kiss on the field as they were surrounded by teammates and cameras in a sweet moment.
Kelce appeared excited after his team's big win in his speech afterward as he quoted the Beastie Boys' lyrics "You've got to fight/ for your right/ to party" — the same lyric he repeated last year after winning the 2023 Super Bowl — as he addressed friends, family and girlfriend Swift.
Since going public with their romance last year, Swift has attended 12 NFL Chiefs' games in support of boyfriend Kelce with her first being on Sept. 24. The Chiefs have won nine games and lost only three times with the singer in attendance.
