Mum strangled to death in horror dog walking accident

A mum of four has died in a freak accident after she was choked by two dog leads during a walk.

On July 8, Deborah Roberts was found faced down while walking through a grassy field in Wrexham, in North Wales in the UK.

According to The Sun, a coroner heard the 47-year-old was found by a young girl who alerted two men nearby a woman was choking.

Ms Roberts was found with two leads wrapped around her neck and dogs pulling on the leads at either end.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the mother died at the scene.

North Wales East and Central senior coroner John Gittins said a post-mortem found she had died from asphyxia due to strangulation, The Sun reported.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

The events leading up to the horrific death are not known and an inquest will be held into her death at a later date.

Ms Roberts’ son Callum posted on Facebook following the tragedy, thanking people for their support.

“My brothers and I are so overwhelmed by all the lovely comments about my mum, she really was one of a kind and we’ll miss her so much,” he wrote.

Her son revealed his mother had also been battling Huntington’s disease when she died – a rare condition that causes the degeneration of nerve cells in the brain.

It is the second tragedy to hit the young sons, with neighbour Dai Jones telling The Sun Ms Roberts’s husband died about three years ago.

“She was a kind, lovely woman. When my wife died many years ago, Deb took me under her wing and helped me get through it. She was wonderfully kind,” he said.

“She lost her husband, Paul, around three years ago and that was hard for her and their four sons, who were her world.

“This will be so tough for the boys to take. They’re young men now, but they still need parents, like all young men do. It is so, so tragic.”

Friends wrote on Facebook they were “absolutely heartbroken” by the death.

“She was a true angel,” one said.

“She was the craziest, most loveliest person I ever knew,” another commented.

A third said she was a “wonderful woman with a heart of gold”.

“It’s a privilege to have known her.”
