UFC trying to set up rematch between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz
UFC wants to see Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz go at it again. The organization is trying to set up a rematch, according to UFC president Dana White.
While both Diaz and Masvidal are interested in a rematch, nothing has been signed yet, according to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani.
Jorge Masvidal vs. Nathan Diaz 2 has been offered and is being discussed, but it wouldn’t be for the same night as Usman-Burns, as TMZ reported. It would be for the January PPV. No chance those two would agree to be the co-main anyway. All parties interested but not signed yet.

Helwani confirms the fight has “been offered and is being discussed.”
When will Masvidal-Diaz 2 take place?
There is conflicting information over when the fight would happen. TMZ initially reported the fight would take place at UFC 256 on Dec. 12, but Helwani says that’s not the case. UFC is reportedly targeting Kamaru Usman vs. Gilbert Burns for that event. That fight is expected to be the headline at UFC 256.
Helwani believes UFC is looking to hold the Masvidal-Diaz fight in January.
Diaz looking for revenge vs. Masvidal
If the two sides can agree on a deal, the fight would mark the second time Diaz and Masvidal went at it. The first came at UFC 244 last November. Masvidal came away the victor in that fight, winning on a TKO after a doctor ruled Diaz could not keep fighting following the third round.
Following that fight, Masvidal told the Madison Square Garden crowd he promised Diaz the two would fight again.
