Well, well, well. It looks like Tyler Perry has gone and done it again!
Back in August, the media mogul went online to announce that his Amazon Prime Video movie Divorce in the Black achieved major success with folks watching it. Well, it seems like Tyler was able to repeat the same monumental feat, but this time, he's doing it on a different streaming site. Just a few days after his series Beauty in Black premiered on Netflix on October 24, Tyler posted on Instagram to reveal the show was #1 in the top 10 TV shows on the platform. What's more, he couldn't help but express how grateful he was that viewers resonated with his latest career project.
"Every number one makes me more and more humbled!" he emotionally wrote on October 27. "I don’t need a number one to be grateful, but we are glad to have it. THANK YOU EVERYONE, I’m so very proud of this cast! Congrats team Beauty in Black! Keep dreaming bigger!"
When fans saw that Tyler celebrated yet another milestone in his career, they couldn't be more thrilled for him in the comments.
"Omg! just watched season one last night! what a roller coaster ride!!! Was so mad when it ended. Can’t wait for it to come back!!! 🍿🍿🍿," one person wrote. "Use this as a 'BEST SERIES EVER' button … " another declared. "I watched the entire series this was 🔥 I couldn't stop 🛑 watching it! 👏🏿," a different user added.
Well, let's all give Tyler a massive round of applause! And what's the best part about this? Beauty in Black is coming back with another eight episodes in 2025, thanks to a reveal by Netflix's Tudum. Meaning: there's a whole lot more Tyler coming our way!
And if that wasn't enough to be excited about, Tyler has another Netflix project heading to screens very soon. His movie The Six Triple Eight (starring Kerry Washington) is set to drop on December 20, and the film will follow the true story of the Women's Army Corps unit of color during World War II.
Congrats, Tyler!
