TV Stars We Lost in 2024

Goodbyes of any kind are never easy, but we had to say some especially tough ones in 2024.

As another calendar year draws to a close, TVLine is remembering the television stars and behind-the-scenes personalities who died this year — a list that includes daytime-TV veterans (like Days of Our Lives‘ Drake Hogestyn), primetime staples (Alice‘s Linda Lavin, for example) and reality show contestants (including American Idol‘s Mandisa and The X Factor‘s Liam Payne).

And though it’s hard to be emotionally prepared for any loss, we were especially struck by the deaths of actors Adan Canto and Chance Perdomo, who were in the middle of respective stints on Fox’s The Cleaning Lady and Prime Video’s Gen V when they passed. Elsewhere in 2024, we bid fond farewells to stars like The Honeymooners’ Joyce Randolph, Curb Your Enthusiasm‘s Richard Lewis, General Hospital‘s Johnny Wactor and Beverly Hills, 90210‘s Shannen Doherty, as well as showbiz giants like Donald Sutherland and Maggie Smith.
