A UK television star has come out making a controversial dig at Kate Middleton during the BAFTA TV Awards on Sunday night.
Former Great British Bake Off presenter Sue Perkins made a rather thinly-veiled joke about the Duchess of Cambridge giving birth to her third child, Prince Louis.
The 48-year-old poked fun at how pristine the duchess looked once she emerged for the cameras outside the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital with husband Prince William and their new baby.
“What a year we’ve had,” she said. “A royal baby born.

- Why Kate Middleton left hospital so quickly after giving birth
“I’m not saying there was pressure on Kate to look perfect afterwards but apparently she couldn’t hear if it was a boy or a girl over the sound of the hair dryer.”
Ouch, ouch, ouch.
And, of course, many people watching the awards ceremony on television took to Twitter to make note of the TV star’s dig.
One person thought the whole joke was just “cringe”.
I love Sue Perkins but her monologue was cringe. That kate middleton hair dryer joke! #BAFTATV

However, another pointed out it wasn’t a “dig at Kate herself”.
I thought Sue Perkins joking about Kate not hearing the gender over a hair dryer was because after giving birth she had to get ready and step out so quickly?? Why are people moaning it's not a dig at Kate herself… #BAFTAS #BAFTATV #BAFTA #BAFTA2018

Many just didn’t find Sue’s monologue too funny.
