Former Big Brother Australia contestant Krystal Hipwell (nee Forscutt) has informed her followers she was rushed to emergency surgery after giving birth to her daughter on Thursday.
Taking to Instagram on Friday, the reality star said she was “relieved” to be reunited with her baby girl, Nakoda, after being treated for a postpartum haemorrhage – where there is excessive bleeding following childbirth.
“You were our missing piece! Our family is now complete Nakoda Ruth Hipwell,” Krystal began her social media post.
“Born the 31st of May, weighing 3.7 kilos. Thankfully a quick labour via vaginal delivery and somehow zero pain relief,” she continued, before going on to explain the complications in the birth.
“Unfortunately straight after giving birth I was rushed to emergency as I suffered a post partum hemorrhage and had to go into surgery,” said Krystal.
“I spent 24hrs in intensive care and was so devastated that I couldn’t be with my baby girl but lucky she had her daddy taking care of her. I have now been reunited with her and am so relieved to finally have our beautiful and perfectly healthy little angel in my arms.”
This is the second child for Krystal and husband Neil, who also share young son Sunny.
Krystal shot to fame after starring in Big Brother Australia back in 2006.
Congrats to the Hipwell family. Glad to hear mum and bub are now doing well.
