Turkish influencer Kübra Aykut — who went viral for her "wedding without a groom" video — has died at 29 after falling from several floors of an apartment complex in Istanbul on Sept. 23, per local news outlets.

According to Türkiye Today's coverage, authorities are investigating the tragic death and trying to determine whether it was by accident or suicide. Some reports have alleged that Aykut left behind a note detailing her personal struggles before her fall from the building's fifth floor.

Fans and followers of the social media star have voiced their shock and sadness in response to the news in the comments of her recent videos. Her most recent TikTok video is from Sept. 7, and she last posted on Instagram on Sept. 20.

Aykut's content gained widespread traction across platforms. At the time of her death, she had over 24,600 subscribers on YouTube, 226,000 followers on Instagram and 1 million followers on TikTok.

Wixir Creative, the Turkish social media agency that represented Aykut, shared three Instagram tributes to her following the news of her death. One post featured a black-and-white photo of the late TikToker, who they said was 29 years old at the time of her death, with a heartfelt caption written in Turkish.

"Our pride, our life, our blood, our joy is a part of our family," reads an English translation of Wixir's Instagram tribute. "We will never forget you, we will always wait for you to enter through that door suddenly."

Her December 2023 solo wedding video — titled "I married myself!" when translated into English — showed footage from her "nuptials," where the influencer danced in a white ball gown alongside her loved ones in attendance.

In the 19-minute YouTube video's description, which is written in Turkish, Aykut shared her reasoning for throwing the unique party.

"Since I don't see anyone as worthy of me, I decided to get married on my own and took action to make it happen," reads the English translation of her explanation. "I had a beautiful wedding with my friends. We had a lot of fun, I hope you had fun too."
