The sweet meaning behind Turia Pitt's baby name
Turia Pitt has welcomed her second son into the world, revealing his name in an adorable Instagram post.
“Maeva i te ao nei! Welcome to the world Rahiti,” Turia wrote, alongside a blue love heart emoji.
This is Turia’s second son with her partner Michael Hoskin, with the pair already being proud parents to two-year-old son, Hakavai Hoskin.
According to namepedia.org, Rahiti means sunrise, while behindaname.com, claims the boy’s name can also mean: ‘he who is focused, an extravert who is very open to the outside world and someone who sees the world and everything as he wishes to see it.’
Turia was born inTahiti and moved to Australia when she was three. She famously sustained horrific injuries during a bushfire that trapped her while running an ultra-marathon in 2011.
After surviving the trauma, and recovering with partner Michael by her side, Pitt has become a national hero and a symbol of survival for people everywhere.
Her and Michael are set to tie the knot next year, after her future-husband popped the question in 2015.
Last August, Turia revealed that she was pregnant with her second baby with a cute Instagram video announcing the news.
In a ‘Beyonce-inspired’ video clip the pair gave fans a sneak peek of Turia’s baby belly, as well as adorable family footage.
“When Michael and I want to share big news, I insist on creating a Beyonce-inspired video montage,” the ecstatic mum joked in the caption.
“Baby #2, we can’t wait to meet you.”
