Trump-Harris Comparison On 'Weekend Update' Couldn't Make Voters' Choice Any More Clear
“Saturday Night Live” made it hard for voters to ignore the differences between presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump during the latest edition of ‘Weekend Update.’
In this week’s segment, anchor Colin Jost presented viewers with back-to-back clips of Harris and Trump “striking very different tones” as they countdown to the Nov. 5 election.
While the Democrat was seen telling supporters to empower themselves at the polls, her opponent told his female supporters their husbands were “fat pig[s]” who needed to get “off the couch” and vote for him.
Next, Jost pointed out the “subtle differences” between the politicians’ message to women.
After rolling footage of Harris heralding reproductive rights, “SNL” played a clip of Trump complaining that serial sexual predator Harvey Weinstein was “schlonged” by the courts.
The disgraced film producer is currently serving a 16-year prison sentence for crimes committed in California and will be retried on his New York charges come November.
Jost followed that absurd Trump moment with a montage of the Republican from an event in Pennsylvania last week, where he turned a town hall into a painfully awkward 40-minute dance party.
Appearing unnerved by the 78-year-old’s dance moves, Jost then joked that Trump’s town hall playlist was available on a fictional mixtape, titled “Now, That’s What I Call Dementia: Vol. 1.”
Though “SNL” seemed to make the choice between the Democrat and Republican oh so clear, the actual race appears closer than ever.
As of Sunday, poll watchers at FiveThirtyEight saw Harris with just a 1.8% lead over the 45th president ― a difference which is well within the margin of error.
