Everyone knows loungewear is having a moment. With social distancing and the rise of spending time at home, jeans have taken a backseat while sweatpant sales continue to soar. Over the past few months, our wardrobes have totally pivoted, prioritizing comfort above all else.

Amazon’s best-seller list is usually very telling of what consumers are shopping for. After stumbling across these $15 pair of sweatpants consecutively month after month ranked a No.1 best seller, we had to try them. That’s why our editors decided to take these viral sweatpants for a spin and tested them out for ourselves, rating them on fit, fabric and size.

With over 17,000 customer reviews and a 4.4-star rating, these joggers are available in over 40 different colorways. We opted for the tried-and-true hue: black. Ahead, check out our honest review of the sweatpants that have taken over the wardrobes of tens of thousands of shoppers.

On the fit: “For starters, I love that these pants are high-waisted and a bit fitted. Unlike a lot of sweatpants and joggers, these hug my body so you can see the curves of my figure really well. And as a tall woman, I appreciate that these fall perfectly at my ankles.”

On the fabrication: “A big plus is the thin and soft material. Most sweatpants are made with a heavy cozy cotton or thick knit fabric, but these are lightweight and breathable. To be honest, they feel like relaxed leggings.”

Would you recommend: “1,000 percent. The best thing is that you can dress them up. I usually wear sweatpants only for lounging, running errands — very casual settings. But with the right top, I feel comfortable wearing these to dinner, work or even a family gathering.”

On the fit: “I was very surprised to find that the fit hit me just right for sweatpants. I tend to find that sweatpants run too tall or too short for me, but these fit just right. I got the XL because I have a booty and I don’t like to wear things that are extremely tight on the skin. The tie string did give me hope that if I put on any more weight, I can still wear these sweatpants for a bit longer. I did notice, however, that they were already starting to fill out in my legs. The silhouette accommodated my body shape, but you can tell it wasn’t necessarily shaped with my body in mind. Although the pant fit me, it created this weird gap of space in my crotch area that totally felt unappealing. That was my only annoyance with this set.”

On the fabrication: “I liked the fabric and the color a lot! It’s not a dark black, which makes it easy to pair with other black material while still adding some dimension. The feel felt very fall-inspired and the definition of cute and comfy loungewear. I only recently started wearing sweats outside, but I would definitely add these to my rotation. It definitely looks more expensive than it cost, but I always say the real test will be when it’s time to wash!”

Would you recommend: “If my friend is looking for a simple pair of sweatpants that is no fuss and easy to work with, I totally would recommend these. I think it’s important to realize how you want your sweatpants to fit and trust your gut. I didn’t find the size guide too helpful, so I trusted my own intuition when deciding sizes. That said, I might not recommend this to someone like me who is bottom heavy and may have a smaller waist since it creates awkward crotch space. I know for a fact, however, I would not have been able to get a smaller size because of my booty.”

Laura Galvan: High 5’1, Wearing Size S

On the fit: “As someone who is on the shorter side, the length of these sweatpants are absolutely perfect because of the tapered hem. However, when I sit down, the fabric near the crotch tends to gap since the rise is super high. I love how these pants aren’t totally oversized, which gives a more polished approach to your average sweatpants. Plus, they are super stretchy!”

On the fabrication: “The fabric is by far the best element to these pants. As someone who is very picky when it comes to textile and owns an abundance of loungewear, I don’t think there is a softer pair of sweatpants on the market. Amazon describes them as ‘premium buttery soft,’ and that couldn’t be more true. It feels like a combination of microfiber and modal — basically your favorite go-to T-shirt in a pair of pants.”

Would you recommend: “I would 100 percent recommend these sweatpants for anyone who loves to be cozy. Not only is the price amazing, but these joggers are so transitional and seasonless. Whether I am just relaxing at home, running errands or grabbing dinner, these pants are so versatile. Plus, they can be styled with anything from a sneaker to a bootie. All in all, it’s a great piece to add to your collection of loungewear.”
