Trevor Noah Muses On Returning As ‘Daily Show’ Host; Comedian “Still Thinking About” Who Will Replace Him – Emmys Backstage
Any second thoughts Trevor Noah about returning as host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show.
“When I see everybody here in the same place, I’d gladly come back and work with everyone,” said the comedian tonight backstage at the Emmys with the main late night trophy.

“(However) when I see what my schedule is on Wednesday, I wouldn’t do it,” he exclaimed.
Noah departed the chair back in December 2022. Since then, with the exception of the WGA strike, there’s been a rotation of hosts on Daily Show with a permanent host to be announced this year.
Noah expressed his confidence in Daily Show carrying the torch into the next election year (“I wouldn’t assume it would be terrible (election year)”), that’s because of the writing staff behind him backstage who’ll remain in place.
“The good news it that The Daily Show is still there, and you’re looking at them.”
In regards to whether he thinks from time to time who his replacement would be, Noah bluntly and hysterically said, “When they announced that we won, I said, ‘Ahh, who is going to replace me? I’m still thinking about that.”
