Known for its glittering harbour and amazing beaches, Sydney is one of the most coveted destinations in the world.

If you live interstate or in regional NSW, the Emerald City is always worth a visit.

The Intercontinental

Treat yourself to a luxury stay at this 5-star hotel.

Based in Circular Quay, it has views across the city skyline, the Opera House, or the Royal Botanic Gardens, and is the perfect base to explore Sydney's main landmarks.

As well as stunning views from inside the rooms, the exterior of the hotel is beautiful too.

It's set in the restored Treasury Building that was built in 1851. A definite indulgent experience.

Radisson Blu Plaza

The Radisson Blu is housed in Fairfax publishing's old building.

It's situated in Sydney's CBD within walking distance to the Opera House and harbour.

There's a fitness centre, spa and three restaurants, including the excellent Bentley Restaurant & Bar which is run by Chef Brent Savage.

The venue includes a vegan tasting menu and is known by locals forhaving one of the best wine lists in the city.

Travelodge

If you're looking to stay somewhere central without spending a fortune, the Martin Place Travelodge is perfect.

Modern, comfortable and within walking distance to everywhere in the CBD, the rooms also have kitchenettes so you can heat up food in the microwave or make snacks.

They offer a hearty buffet breakfast, and you can get a queen room from just $245 - a bargain for central Sydney.

Pier One, Sydney Harbour

If you're looking to splash out, don't go past Pier One.

Located directly on the water, this 5-star hotel has private balconies in many of the rooms and beautifully appointed interiors.

There are pet-friendly rooms too, so you can even treat your pooch to a night away.

There's even a signature hotel cocktail; the ‘Sunset Spritz’, designed to be enjoyed on your balcony or adjoining pier as the sun sets.

Best Western Plus Hotel Stellar

Based on the corner of Hyde Park and bustling Oxford Street, this is a great spot if you want to explore the edgier side of Sydney but still be central.

The rooms are great if you're staying with kids as they have good sized kitchenettes including a microwave, fridge and toaster.

W Hotel

This impressive building in the middle of Sydney's Barangaroo complex houses modern rooms, many of which have separate living areas.

Surrounded by the best restaurants and bars in the city, it's definitely the place to be seen around town.

While you're there, don't miss a trip to the spa which includes body scrubs, couples massages and facials.

Four Points by Sheraton

Stay near the action of Central Station in this modern hotel.

Great for families, there are large rooms with mini fridges and desks, a 24-hour fitness centre and a restaurant.

There's also a craft-beer bar and the all important room service.
